What is it that makes handmade paper wood free or eco friendly?
Handmade paper, unlike mill made paper is not made from wood pulp. Different waste material is used for producing handmade paper of different varieties. Cotton waste, jute, silk and wool are some of the most commonly used materials for making handmade paper.
Is handmade paper printer-friendly?
Most varieties of handmade paper can be used for a laser printer but only specific varieties like batik paper or bond paper can be used in a deskjet.
Is handmade paper suitable for writing?
Most handmade paper is suitable for writing. Fountain pen ink may blot on some of the thinner variants. Embossed paper or some rough varieties like the moonrock paper may be unsuitable for writing.
What is the life of handmade paper?
The handmade paper itself is extremely durable but since most varieties of handmade paper are coloured or printed using natural dyes and vegetable colours, the print or the colour may fade in 2-3 years
Are the handmade paper products also eco-friendly?
Though handmade paper is purely eco-friendly and recycled, certain products are embellished using stones and sequins made of plastic. This embellishment can be omitted if the client wishes.
